As a London-based architect fascinated by the blend of modernity and history, I recently enjoyed a stay at the Silverfjord with my family. The hotel's location is exceptionally convenient for train travelers, making it easily accessible and perfect for exploring nearby attractions like the Ruthven Barracks. We appreciated that it was a quiet retreat compared to the bustling Aviemore. Our room was spacious, boasting gorgeous panoramic windows overlooking the serene park and distant snow-capped mountains. While the decor had potential to be more elevated, the cleanliness made our stay comfortable. The kids loved the cooked breakfast, and we enjoyed our morning chats with the amicable staff, particularly Jill, who went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. During our downtime, we found family-friendly walking trails in Cairngorm National Park. The serene surroundings allowed us to bond over leisurely strolls, appreciating nature together. Though the pub and restaurant closed early, nearby takeaways like the fish and chips provided delightful, easy meals. The Silverfjord suited our needs for a family getaway, striking a balance between tranquility and access to local attractions.
